The Road

If just for one day, a road trip is what I need now.  And it shall be.  We don’t know where we’re heading, but we’re off in a while, maybe south, maybe west, maybe off toward the pine forests of east Texas.

I love spontaneous road trips, trips with no direction and no purpose other than exploration.  We have a $50-off coupon for a Best Western motel, so we hope to land tonight in a town with a decent Best Western, but that’s not an absolute requisite…though the fact that the coupon expires at the end of this month does tend to give it more significance.

Mornings like this one…cool, windy mornings with the promise of Fall just around the corner…are right for road trips.  The call of the open road is too clear to ignore.

Weather forecasts call for a hard chill by Friday.  Now’s the time for me to get into Fall!
