We have a lot of choices to make, if only we take the opportunities. For example, I might choose to learn a new word each day or try a new recipe every month or meet a new person each week. I could make it tougher on myself (and possibly more enriching) by choosing to create and articulate a strong argument in favor of a position with which I disagree vehemently.
These are choices we may make, or not make, freely. The first step is to admit we have the choice.
