August 31: Thoughts for the Day

Forgive yourself.  That’s what I got from the advice I heard given to someone else.  But it fits me just as well.

Even when you behave badly, make stupid decisions, or create chaos with ill-conceived ideas, forgive yourself.  Take ample time to castigate yourself, first, but don’t go overboard.  In the final analysis, you have to realize you’re imperfect; you will make remarkably mindless, idiotic decisions and absurd, stupid mistakes.

Correct them.  Then forgive yourself for having made them.

And hope others can do the same.
