Thoughts for the Day: June 1

Windowlooking3Just a little left of center of this image is a dead tree.  The first few days I was here, seeing it bothered me; I wanted to remove it.  But lately, I have begun to see it as beautiful. Yesterday, a scarlet tanager landed on the uppermost branch and sat there for several minutes. If it had landed on any of the surrounding trees, I wouldn’t have been able to see it.  But when I saw an orange speck fly into the tree, I picked up my binoculars and saw it “up close.”  It looked very much like the photo below.  That dead tree belongs here.
