This piece made me smile. You hit it on the head with the pun that’s important to a contradiction found in language:

Michel Foucault’s essay — of the same name — was writing that Magrite’s piece, “This Is Not a Pipe,” was “an un-reconcilable contradiction that rendered language dysfunctional.” Both Foucault and Magritte agree that “signs are arbitrary, circumstantial, and conventional.”

Foucault’s major theme is that language and “its relation to extra-linguistic things,” should be investigated, and in the manner your “not a post.”

I’m jealous…you have a theme for an essay that could be re-application, but to social networking via an introduction of your photo /statement “This is not a post”!!!

    You made my day!
