Sad Sleeper

Not me, the sleeper sofa.  It’s been on Craigslist for well over a month, its price dropping precipitously week by week, only to be generally ignored.  There have been a few emails, more than half from inept scammers who are simply too stupid to be a danger to their prospective victims. And only a few expressions of slight, very slight, interest.

Today, that changed.  An actual visit!  A family of four came to take a look and said it was just about perfect, but they had one more to look at nearby and would get back to me shortly.  And they did.  The other one got the nod.  Mine did not.

At this point, I would be happy to give it away to anyone willing to come get it. Or maybe Goodwill will take it.  Or some other charity.

It’s really a shame, because the sleeper sofa is in very good condition, is very attractive, and cost a LOT of money when it was new.  And it hasn’t been used much.  But it remains a sad sleeper because nobody seems to want it.  Not even my wife.  Not even me.

    Congratulations! This is wonderful news!

  2. Finally! It sold tonight! There’s a big empty space where it used to be. Progress!

I wish you would tell me what you think about this post...
