As I sit in my study with the windows open, listening to the cardinals and mockingbirds and wrens and who knows what else, the thought running through my mind is this: if everyone else in the world were as fortunate as I, there would be everlasting peace. And then I wonder what I am doing, enjoying this magic alone? Therein lies the problem; we’re not sharing the majesty the way we should. But how can we? We live isolated lives.
