March 11: Thoughts for the Day

Sometime, when I go to a greengrocer, I look around and silently give thanks for farmers. Then I realize I am even more thankful for vegetables.

    I do, too, but I’ve grown thoughtful over things concerning teknics, or what is Technological determinism: The idea that culture is formed/controlled by our dynamic dependence on machines and technology.

    It amazes me that farmers are able to mass produce so much, and on scales so large that I can barely comprehend — that our store freezers have meat and ice, and our refrigerators have crispy lettuce and chilled goat’s milk. 😉
