January 4: Thoughts for the Day

This is the first Saturday of the year.  There’s never before been a Saturday in the year 2014.  If that’s not a reason to celebrate, I don’t know what is!

So, today I celebrate First Saturday.  It’s one of my new holidays.  There are gifts to be shared, you know.  First Saturday gifts.    Everyone gets one.  Each one is from the heart.  Look for yours; it’s there, believe me!

Here’s the easiest way to find your First Saturday gift.  Sit down in a quiet room, alone, and close your eyes for five minutes.  During that time, imagine yourself floating on a soft cushion in black space; imagine seeing millions upon millions of stars in that black space. Breathe slowly, allowing every breath to give you a growing sense of absolute calm.

After five minutes, open your eyes.  See!  There’s your present!  Let the celebrations begin!
