Eight

Living where I now do, among so many of the aging and the aged, I frequently encounter people who seem to be content to live in a world in which change of any kind is viewed with suspicion and distrust.  It’s not as easy to avoid them as I might like, but it’s a necessity if I hope to retain my appreciation of new ideas and new perceptions of the world. I want to find more people who relish exposure to challenging and thought-provoking ideas. You cannot change the people around you, but you can change the company you keep.

And so, eight days in, an important goal for the coming weeks and months begins to gel.
