I have just spent almost an hour reading about various proposed amendments to the Arkansas State Constitution and other ballot issues and initiatives for the election. It is no wonder the number of votes cast on ballot initiatives are, as I understand it, lower than low. The stuff is convoluted in the extreme.
That having been said, it behooves every eligible voter to take the time to read and understand what’s on the ballot. Otherwise, “democracy” is an arcane term with no meaning in today’s world.
