December 5: Thoughts for the Day

It is so easy to get caught up in emotional responses to events of the day.  It’s easy, and it’s dangerous.  Intelligent people should recognize when their personal biases and opinions are permitting emotions to trump intellect; they recognize it and they step back and breathe.  It does not pay to jump on an emotional bandwagon built by people with a stake in the game.

A cause does not automatically become just or right simply because it is a conservative cause or a liberal cause.  People who allow their political leanings to filter their perception of right and wrong, fantasy and reality, scare me.  They belong in cages until their moral compasses are reset, not by affiliation but by fact.
