October 11: Thoughts for the Day

In my experience, kind and generous neighbors are rare.  I hate revealing that, but I think it’s true.  But when neighbors are kind and generous, they are the sort of rare neighbors who deserve accolades, appreciation, and acceptance.

We had neighbors over on Thursday evening for drinks and snacks and conversation on the deck.  We had a great time!  And we learned of their kindness and generosity the next morning, when we got a voice mail saying the guy had bought something for us that he had ballyhooed the night before.

It’s that kind of experience that almost makes me think their politics don’t matter…and we don’t know their politics.
