If your dream is to have a place in the country, a place where you can have a garden, futz around with a tractor, and generally live a life that’s beyond your personal realm…don’t wait. Don’t wait until retirement. There will be a reason you can’t pursue it then. Don’t wait until you have the money; you never will. Don’t put it off until something “falls into place.” It won’t. If that place in the country is your dream, make it happen. Go into debt if you must. Get a place that’s a little shy of your ideal. Just get a place. Because if you don’t, you never will.
