Everyone deserves a break. I deserve a break from my self-imposed insistence that I write something every day. Well, I must continue to do my “Thoughts for the Day,” but I deserve a break from writing my “regular” posts. So, today and tomorrow I may not write a “substantive” post.
I deserve a break today. So do you.
Wish I’d seen that report, Juan. I do believe we’re tiring of Facebook, but I’m not tiring of blogging. What’s missing is the camaraderie of neighbors…that’s what FB was trying to replicate, maybe without knowing it. And it didn’t quite get there.
NPR had a report only a few days ago that Facebook is now plateauing, or that the number entering is now equaling the number leaving. FB is not growing anymore! I wonder if FB will go the way of MySpace?
Had lunch with a colleague of mine (psychologist) today, who was going on about our narcissistic age — that FB was (to him) about “look at me.”
Are we finally tiring of this?
I need that natural rhythm of quiet.
I’ve pretty much taken this whole first week of the New Year off from the blog and Facebook. It wasn’t a planned break, but it was rather enjoyable. I like the natural rhythm of quiet in winter.
