January 23: Thoughts for the Day

If you have a friend, you would do the same for him (or her) as you would do for your family, because a true friend is just the same as family, just without the legal paperwork. Your friend, your true friend, would do the same for you.

    Very positive thought to start the day, John. You gave me a lift. Yes, true friendship does work like that.

    When I was very young and all the world seemed like my friend, my father saw this and tempered it with a warning. He said, “One day, John, you will be lucky if you can count your friends on one hand.”

    And he was right.
