Early

It’s just after 6:00 am on a Sunday morning.  I’ve been awake for well over an hour.  While my wife slept in the hotel’s king bed, I showered and got dressed.  It must be my way of returning to normalcy.

Today, we drive to Houston to take my brother to breakfast.  With luck, my niece and her husband will join us.  Then, we’ll either head home or drift a little further west for one more night on the road.

This trip has cured my longing for life on the road in a small way but has strengthened it in another; hard to understand, much less write about.

The trip has been good.  I am ready to be home, though, so I can get ready to hit the road again.
