Occasionally, while watching a film or reading a book, I wonder whether the people behind the piece are re-telling their own stories and experiences. Or, are they simply creative geniuses who have an exceptional ability to portray emotions I assume are buried deep within myself.
Then, I consider the way music is layered over the experiences to amplify them.
The only conclusion I can reach is this: the writers and actors and songwriters and musicians and directors and all the others involved in creating these things are gifted…and they have experienced the aching emotions they portray. And I admire them. And I feel their pain.
