August 30: Thoughts for the Day

Power was restored at 5:35 a.m., not 11:30 p.m. as originally promised.  So, I guess it was out for about ten hours or so…that’s a long time without light and AC and fans.

After my long-delayed shower, we’re ready to hit the road, the objective to drive to Mississippi and buy a car…or, at least, to look at one.

Despite their annoying characteristics, power outages tend to be valuable reminders that we are spoiled.  I know I am.  But grateful for the people who, over the years, have perfected electricity-generation and distribution so well that we can take it for granted.

Hmmm. The forecast…rain and thunderstorms…for our destination has changed our plans. Maybe another day.

I wish you would tell me what you think about this post...
